Formerly a former partner at a major national firm and an in-house general counsel at one of British Columbia’s largest and most recognized companies, Avra’s founder, Steve Michoulas, has nearly seen it all. Commercial Real Estate

Avra’s founder, Steve Michoulas, has over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, having worked on some of the largest real estate transactions in the province. We have deep experience helping real estate investors with acquisitions and divestiture, real estate financing, partnerships and structuring, development and leasing. We are very closely tied into the commercial real estate industry in Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary.

Aviation, Transportation and Infrastructure

There are few lawyers in Canada that can match Steve Michoulas’ aviation industry expertise, having spent nearly 9 years in-house at the world-renowned Vancouver International Airport, 4 years on the Legal Affairs committee of Airports Council International (North America) and currently sitting on the boards of the BC Aviation Council and the Alberta Aviation Council. We have acted for airports large and small on a wide variety of matters. We also have experience with aircraft finance, aircraft leasing, rail and sea ports.

Specific experience includes airport land developments and leasing, non-aeronautical revenue projects, terminal concessions, into-plane fueling and tank farm management, procurement of airside operators, procurement processes to find business partners, managing Competition Act issues at two different airports, advice as it relates to airside access, corporate governance and best practices regarding same, jurisdictional/constitutional matters, construction projects, debenture financings, innovation and the commercialization of such innovation both in domestic and foreign jurisdictions and the licensing of third party operators.
